Standing and Special Committees

The State Bar relies on volunteer attorneys to operate 21 committees that help shape the future of the legal profession and provide critically important input. Jurisdiction for the committees is established annually by resolution of the Board of Commissioners. The State Bar president also has the authority to appoint additional task forces and ad hoc committees to address specific issues. Committee applications are accepted annually, and an invitation to apply is sent via email to all Michigan attorneys, typically in July.
