Review and formulate recommendations to the Board of Commissioners with respect to all matters pertaining to structure and governance. Finance and Audit Committee

Jurisdiction: Oversee fiscal policy, ensure internal accounting controls, monitor expenses and revenues, monitor cash reserves and investments, and make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on finance, budget, investments, and risk management, and insurance policies. Recommend independent auditors, meet with the auditors to discuss audit findings, approve the annual audit, and review and approve the criteria for and aggregate amount of any staff bonuses before they are awarded.

Professional Standards Committee

Jurisdiction: Review and make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners regarding character and fitness district committee appointments, client protection fund claims, ethics, and unauthorized practice of law litigation. Make recommendations on policies and rules regarding Character and Fitness; Client Protection Fund; Interim Administrator Program; Judicial Ethics; Professional Ethics; and Unauthorized Practice of Law.

Strategic Planning and Engagement Committee

Jurisdiction: Develop and oversee the implementation of the strategic plan. Review and make recommendations to the Board of Commissioners regarding new and existing programs, services, sections, and bar activities. Guide development of reports and metrics for measuring the effectiveness of efforts to advance the Strategic Plan. Review and advise on the proposed committee matrix for the upcoming bar year. Review recommendations from the Awards, Michigan Bar Journal, and Public Outreach & Education committees.
