Wolverine Bar Ass'n: MLK Service Project

MLK Service Project at Dossin Elementary--The WBA will join Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Gamma Lambda Chapter for their annual MLK community service effort on Monday, January 16, 2017. Organized byMurphy's Law, STEMulating the Future, the event will be held at Dossin Elementary-Middle School, located at 16650 Glendale St., Detroit, 48227. This is a chance to continue planting the seeds of hope and show our youth that educated, professional and positive African Americans do exist. The service project kicks off at 9:00 am, lasts until 1:30 pm and will be focused on 200 K- 8 students. Projects for the day will include MLK awareness through games, activities, poetry, crafts, youth dialog, music, and prizes. There will also be a Project Alpha youth relationship program for 7-8th grade boys and girls, as well as a STEM project for 5th-6th grade students. Parents will have the opportunity to participate in awareness forums filled with great information. A short closing program will include a step show, followed by free lunch or dinner style meal and snack provided for all students.
