The Federal Bar Association Eastern District of Michigan’s Diversity Committee presents “From Classroom to Courtroom” on Friday, January 1 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. with check-in at 8:45 a.m. It will be held at the Theodore Levin Courthouse, 231 W. Lafayette Blvd. in Detroit, Michigan (Room 115). This event is free to attend and will offer Michigan’s law students a chance to turn classroom skills into a federal court practice. Students will hear from federal judges during a panel discussion titled “So You Want to Be an Intern”; observe civil or criminal court proceedings, and meet members of the Eastern District’s federal bar. Lunch is included and a panel of federal court practitioners will explain how they got their start. Students are invited to join the FBA (it’s free) at fbamich.org.
