SBM’s Lawyer Referral Service Needs Michigan Attorneys

The State Bar of Michigan’s Lawyer Referral Service is dedicated to connecting those seeking legal representation with the counsel they need, but to fulfill that mission, they need more Michigan attorneys to participate.

Currently, the demand for attorneys outweighs the number of those participating in the Lawyer Referral Service, or LRS, leaving many clients unmatched with a lawyer who can help them. The flip side of that equation is that Michigan attorneys could be missing out on referrals.

LRS operates by delivering client referrals directly to participating attorneys’ emails—making participation a win for attorneys as well as clients.

LRS does the heavy lifting by screening all referrals to ensure both a good match and the client’s ability to pay (callers who can’t pay for legal services are diverted to other resources). You can read here why current members have called LRS an invaluable part of their practice.

Participation is easy. Once an attorney signs up to become a panel member, LRS will begin sending them emails whenever they receive an inquiry from a client match. Attorneys will also have access to an online portal where they can track referrals.
