Carrie Sharlow Receives 2024 Avern Cohn Award for Excellence
Carrie Sharlow, administrative assistant for the State Bar of Michigan, has been awarded the 2024 Avern Cohn Award for Excellence in the Collection, Preservation, and Interpretation of Michigan Legal History.
The award, presented by the Court Historical Society for the Eastern District of Michigan, recognizes Sharlow's outstanding contributions through her "Michigan Lawyers in History" articles in the Michigan Bar Journal.
Sharlow’s first article was published in September, 2011. She has since written 52 articles illuminating readers about attorneys who have won landmark cases for the state of Michigan, broken through social barriers, and helped shape the legal landscape in Michigan.
Sharlow was honored and received the award at the society's annual meeting and luncheon on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at the Atheneum Hotel in Detroit.
