Miss the Presidential & Awards Luncheon? We Took Photos.

The State Bar of Michigan hosted attorneys from throughout the state as Joseph P. McGill took the gavel as the Bar's 90th president on September 19, 2024 at the Presidential Inauguration & Awards Luncheon, where attendees spent the afternoon mingling, congratulating, and celebrating.

The remaining 2024-2025 officers of the Board of Commissioners were also sworn into their new seats, with Lisa J. Hamameh as president-elect, Erika L. Bryant as vice president, Thomas H. Howlett as treasurer, and David C. Anderson as secretary.

Ten outstanding legal professionals received the Bar's highest honors: Maura D. Corrigan, winner of the Roberts P. Hudson Award; Edward Plawecki Jr. and William Wolfson, winners of the Frank J. Kelley Distinguished Public Service Award; Marilena David, Andrew Densemo, Bonsitu Kitaba-Gaviglio, and Erika Riggs, winners of the Champion of Justice Award; Gary Maveal, winner of the John W. Reed Michigan Lawyer Legacy Award; Wendolyn Richards, winner of the John W. Cummiskey Pro Bono Award; and Elaine Stocking, winner of the Liberty Bell Award.
