Virtual seminar to outline succession planning best practices

Join us for a virtual seminar “Successful Succession: How to Value, Sell, and Purchase a Law Firm in a Post-Pandemic World” from 10-11:30 a.m. September 14, 2023. Hosted by the State Bar of Michigan’s Practice Management Resource Center, the session will include how to value a law practice and options to consider when selling a practice as well as information on how to prepare for a sale, what to expect after buying/selling, and developing contingency plans.

The webinar will feature Jeremy E. Poock, who specializes in law firm sales, and Margaret T. Burke, who specializes in law firm management including succession planning.

The program is open to all members of the State Bar of Michigan and their staffs.

Speaker Bios:

Jeremy E. Poock is the founder and president of Senior Attorney Match, Inc., which designs and implements law firm sales for attorneys who have practiced 30+ years. He spent more than a decade as a Massachusetts business law attorney with a focus on representing buyers and sellers in the sales of small businesses before founding Senior Attorney Match in 2013.

Margaret Burke is founder and president of MB Law Firm Consulting, LLC. A certified legal manager, she has decades of experience working with lawyers, partners, and small to midsize law firms and specializes in law firm management, strategy, and finance.
