6/5 House Judiciary
Agenda: HB 5714 Allow promulgation of an emergency rule for scheduling certain controlled substances; SB 1082 Classify synthetic cannabinoids as schedule 1 controlled substances and prohibit sales and offer to sell certain products represented to contain controlled substances or having the effects of controlled substances; For Referral to the Committee on Insurance: HB 5497 Modify amount of liability coverage required for certain hospital aircraft transport vehicles.

Agenda Items of Interest: SB 1115 Modify and clarify procedures for entry of damage awards; SB 1116 Enact physician judgment rule; SB 1117 Include nonlicensed health care providers persons to whom medical malpractice provisions of the revised judicature act apply; SB 1118 Revise statute of limitations period of limitations for survival actions and disallow prejudgment interest on attorney fees and costs.

Agenda: HB 5284 Expand definition of computer to include certain electronic communication devices; HB 4928 Allow affidavits to correct errors or omissions relating to previously recorded documents; SB 1126 Require electronic monitoring of certain participants in work release programs; SB 1127 Require verification of school enrollment or employment of individual placed on school or work release while on probation; HB 5562 Enhance child abuse penalties, and provide penalties for crimes involving the commission of child abuse in the presence of another child; HB 5563 Revise sentencing guidelines for crime of first degree and second degree child abuse, and provide penalties for crimes involving the commission of child abuse in the presence of another child; HB 5431 Prohibit false report of medical or other emergency and provide for a penalty and reimbursement of certain expenses; HB 5432 Provide for reimbursement of certain expenses resulting from false reports of emergencies; HB 5433 Enact sentencing guidelines for crime of making false report of medical or other emergency; For Testimony Only: SB 743 Create uniform child abduction prevention act; A Presentation by the Judicial Selection Task Force. HB 5702 Civil procedure; civil actions; contingent attorney fees; provide limitation. Amends sec. 919 of 1961 PA 236 (MCL 600.919).

SB 1153 Human services; other; registry for perpetrators of vulnerable adult abuse; create. Creates new bill.
