Free Opinion Searching Available to Attorneys

    Licensed Michigan attorneys should use Michigan Law Online to search Michigan Supreme Court and Court of Appeals opinions as it offers more opinions and greater searching ability than the e-Journal opinion collection.     What resources does Michigan Law Online include?

    • Michigan Supreme Court opinions from 1942 to the present
    • Michigan Supreme Court orders from 1966 to the present
    • Michigan Court of Appeals published opinions from 1965 forward (since the inception of the Court of Appeals)
    • Unpublished Court of Appeals cases from July 1996 forward (as PDF files)
    • Current Michigan Court Rules and amending orders from 1995
    • Current Michigan Rules of Evidence and amending orders from 1995
    • Michigan Rules of Professional Responsibility links to other Michigan primary law resources, such as the Michigan Legislature

    Enter your search criteria in the search text box. Use "quotation marks" around a phrase to search for the exact phrase. Select either e-Journal opinions or e-Journal summaries in the search collection.

    When the search returns your list of possibilities, use the cached or text version option after each entry to see your search criteria highlighted. Use the more results link to view similar matches.
