State Bar of Michigan Offers Identity Theft Product as a Member Discount Program

The State Bar of Michigan has partnered with IT Risk Managers, Inc. to provide its members with the myIDsite identity theft suite of products. IT Risk Managers, based in Okemos, Mich., is a licensed insurance broker specializing in providing risk management solutions for businesses.

“We wanted a suite of products that our members could purchase and also use as an employee benefit for their companies,” said SBM President Ronald D. Keefe. “We also wanted to provide our members a risk management process and a resolution solution should they become a victim, and that is what IT Risk Managers has done.”

myIDsite consists of four modules. The Awareness module provides users with the education that they need to protect their identity. The Prevention module minimizes the risk of identity theft by giving users tips and techniques that are both easy to understand and easy to implement. In the event of identity theft, the Recovery module provides users with information on whom to contact, what to tell them, and in what order to contact them. Finally, the Insurance module gives users access to expert assistance and financial reimbursement of up to $25,000 per family member for out-of-pocket, legal, and miscellaneous expenses incurred while resolving an identity theft event.

As a bonus, myIDsite users will also receive the Computer Protection Plan. Designed to keep subscribers educated about their personal computer, the Computer Protection Plan delivers e-mail virus alerts and up to $1,000 reimbursement for virus and physical damage to home computers.
