4/11/02

Tara Schemansky, a young lawyer from the Lange and Cholack firm in Troy was among a group of fifteen lawyers from the Detroit area who gave their time and expertise on Thursday, April 4th 2002 to help low income and indigent people meet their legal needs. The attorneys handled cases ranging from home ownership and real estate matters to wills and trusts for the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association's Legal Services Clinic. The clinic was established by a consortium of legal departments and law firms to meet the needs of the poor. The Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association administers it. Stacey King of the State Bar of Michigan Young Lawyers Section Executive Council planned and organized the staffing, in cooperation with Sandra York, Special events Coordinator for the Detroit Metropolitan Bar.
